Los Poblanos Open Space, in the Heart of Albuquerque

The walk around the perimeter of this urban farm is about three miles. The huge field is a pretty foreground for the Sandia Mountains to the east and the volcanoes to the west.


The perimeter path follows beautiful acequias.

Many people walk their dogs along the path. This man posed for us with his gorgeous prize-winning whippets.
There are many magnificent cottonwood trees.

There are plenty of birds–here is a sandhill crane in winter.
Coyotes are also a common sight.
