Within the Sandia Mountains, east of Albuquerque

There are many places to hike in the Sandias, both in the foothills and on the east side. You will never run out of photography opportunities there.

This is from a horseback riding trail, which is several miles longer than the hiking trails in the same area.
At the top of Tree Springs Trail. The trailhead is on the south side of the crest road from Hwy. 14. There is a parking lot for it. It takes 1-2 hours one way, depending on how many photos you stop to take along the way.

The mountains are beautiful no matter what the season.
